Well, today I ran 1 mile at school for the Physical Fitness Test. My goal was to get under 10 min. since I haven't ran a mile since last August :( Well, I ran a 10:17 :/// I got really thirsty after the 3rd lap (we had to run 4, around the school) and we weren't allowed to get a drink until we were finished. Oh well. If I keep working I'll get better :D

Nothing wrong with a 10:14. All improving will take is a little time. Run 2 or 3 times a week, and you'll be taking age groups in races (if you're not already).

Best of luck to you, and given that your dad is a great guy, I'm sure you'll have plenty of motivation to get out there and get it done.
